Lisa Joy is a sacred movement and sound recording, expressionist-artist, fulfilling a dream of fusing devotional practice, her skilled performances and creations, into one gesture of Being; personally, professionally in service, and within community. A practicing senior member of The Sufi Foundation of America, Lisa has delved the mysticism, philosophy, and sciences of Sufism under Sufi Master, Adnan Sarhan, member of 5 Sufi orders, since 1999. Teachings stem from the Shattari method, also regarded as 'the Rapidness' revealing a system of spiritual practices that lead to a 'state of completion.' Lisa's principle focus offering Sufi practices is creating the right meditative environment in which all involved find their way surrendering physical and internal trials, releasing renewed energy. She has facilitated workshops and events in many US cities. Her Southwest offerings in continuum began with High Desert Yoga in March of 2018, evolving Sufi Universal Dance workshops, intensives, drum meditation, and performances. Throughout the time Lisa has cultivated music, dance, performance, ensemble, collaboration, and solo works reflective of mystical Sufism's whirling, elated dance, and ethereal veil. At present Lisa resides in the Manzano Mountains of New Mexico at her private artist-production home.
