About The Event
Mindful Yoga and Meditation combines gentle yoga postures with breath and body awareness, guided meditation instruction and sitting practice. We focus on the present moment and develop skill in concentrating and steadying the mind so that we can be more attentive, more aware and more centered.This way of practice can help us see our bodies, hearts and minds more clearly, while cultivating kindness and compassion within.
Doreen Siracusano began her formal practice in yoga and meditation in 1982. During the course of her 33-year career as a Psychiatric Physician Assistant and Master's Level Counselor, she studied and taught Mindfulness Meditation for Veterans and pursued numerous trainings in both allopathic and natural medicine, massage, meditation, astrology, and yoga. In 2011 Doreen completed the HDY 500 hour Teacher Training and has been teaching yoga for the last 8 years. She is registered with Yoga Alliance as E-RYT 500 and has assisted in the HDY Teacher Training. Doreen has also studied and practiced Western Astrology for many years. Seeking balance in mind, body and spirit is Doreen’s life-long quest and she is passionate about continued learning and sharing with others.
