This workshop is for yoga and spiritual practitioners at crucial transitions who want to explore the depths of wisdom, awaken their highest purpose, and transform their practice, teaching & life through the path of Vedic Astrology (Jyotish). Jyotish is the 5,000 year old sacred art and science of light. It’s a sister science to Ayurveda and Yoga. Jyotish is a system of mapping one’s interconnection with the planets, stars and karma in order to get clarity about when and how to apply your free will according to various potentials and limitations at particular times. Through Jyotish you learn how to swim with the current, rather than against it – in all areas of life. It’s a powerful tool that not only offers wonderful insight but truly helps us to align with our “dharma” or higher purpose. In this introductory workshop we will explore a brief history and fundamentals of Jyotish; the meaning of the Planets, the Signs, the Houses, Rahu Ketu (the nodes of the Moon), and the Nakshratras. We will also chant Vedic Mantras for the planets. No previous knowledge of astrology is necessary.

Yogacharya Sanjay, International Yoga Teacher and Vedic Astrologer was born and raised in North India in a jeweler's family where it is imperative to know Vedic Astrology (Jyotish) to find the right gemstones according to the natal chart. The deep mystical and practical knowledge of Jyotish was passed onto Sanjay from a young age and he now carries on this lineage of ancient wisdom and expertise to guide you on a journey toward deeper self-awareness, greater inner peace, and wiser choices aligned with your most authentic life purpose—especially when you’re at a crucial turning point in your life, practice and teaching. Sanjay embodies and has been devoted to the path of yoga since 2009 when he met the first of many spiritual masters. After meeting the spiritual master his life changed and he felt a strong inner calling and curiosity to know more about the path of yoga and Jyotish. His formal study in yogic practices began in 2010-2011 at MDNIY, one of the most renowned yoga schools in India. He has experience leading multiple yoga and meditation retreats + YTTC. He holds a U.S. 200 RYT Certificate from Yoga Alliance. Sanjay moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in August 2018 and is here of service to the land of enchantment and the diverse population it attracts from all over the world.
