About The Event
Much of our back stress arises from our sedentary lifestyles. Do you drive or sit for hours on end? Or perhaps you have a strenous workload. Yoga postures provide the perfect antidote for weak or weary backs. Strengthening and extending the back muscles enhances alignment which results in greater stability, while gentle twists and supported forward bends lengthen shortened muscles. Mobilizing the shoulder girdle and softening around the heart allows you to breathe more deeply and further reduces you from the grip of tension. Join us for an exploration of the spine and muscles that hold us up, not back!
Supriti is a lifelong devotee of Yoga and has been teaching for almost 50 years. In 1979 she travelled to Pune, India and took public classes with the Iyengar family at the their famed Institute. Then in 1984 she attended the First International Iyengar Convention in San Francisco, studying with Senior Instructors and the Master himself. She continues to study mainly in this tradition. Supriti worked as a licensed Massage Therapist for over 20 yrs and brings her knowledge of anatomy to her teaching. She shares her love of poetry and wisdom teachings in daily readings to her students and teaches with great humor and infectious joy. She is certified with the Yoga Alliance as a E-RYT500 and still considers herself a humble and grateful student of the inexhaustible Path of Yoga.

This class will take place on Zoom. Register for the class at least 30 minutes beforehand. You will receive the Zoom link in a confirmation email at the end of the registration process and again in a reminder email 30 minutes before the class starts. Please join the Zoom meeting 10–15 minutes before the class begins.
While you do not need a Zoom plan to participate, you can set up a free Basic Zoom Plan to practice using Zoom.
