Go Wild with Yoga! a retreat at the Gila Wilderness, NM

We have searched high and low for quite some time for the perfect place to offer a retreat in the Gila that allows us to be surrounded by the forest! We are happy to offer our first annual Go Wild with Yoga in the Gila Retreat!
Join us for an inspiring and captivating retreat in the magical Gila Wilderness, NM. We will enjoy three nights of the peaceful quiet and beautiful night sky of the Gila National Forest. We will lodge at the Agave Spirit Retreats, a ‘short’ walk (few miles) to the historic mountain town of Pinos Altos. Thursday evening dinner and delicious breakfast entrees will be served by gourmet professional chef and owner of Three Dog Coffee House and Eatery in Silver City, NM. We will organize an optional dinner hosted at the Curious Kumquat, with renowned foraging chef, Rob Connoley. Two yoga classes will be offered each day and will include asana/poses, breathwork and meditation. There will be ample opportunities for rest and quiet time, or to partake in many activities such as journaling, bird watching, stargazing, hiking, bicycling and exploring the area. Take a trip to the Gila Hot Springs, the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument or become enchanted on the shores of the Gila River. We will provide an optional guided activity each day for guests as well as suggestions for other activities. You will be able to schedule bodywork and massage treatments onsite with Pamela Morgan of Flow of Life Massage.
We have developed a not to be missed program combining rejuvenation, relaxation for those seeking relaxation and outdoor activities for those seeking adventure and outdoor activities. This retreat will have something for everyone!

Zoreh is the founder of High desert yoga, she has been teaching yoga since 1985 and is certified with the Yoga Alliance as an Experienced RYT 500. She is a faculty member of the High Desert Yoga Teacher Training Program since it origins 15 years ago. For the past twenty years she has been offering public classes and offering private yoga therapy sessions to help many with back, neck, shoulders, hips, knees and ankle issues become pain free with proper alignment and mindfulness.She enjoys her passion of yoga and exploring the heavenly spots in the world by offering yoga and meditation retreats for the past 20 years in inspiring locations such as Mexico, South America, India and New Mexico. Zoreh has created in a beautiful outdoor studio, Yoga del Pacifico on the beach in Troncones, Mexico where she hosts many retreats.Zoreh's upbringing started her on the path of Sufism and she has studied numerous paths and methodologies including Iyengar, yoga therapy, meditation, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, and the yoga methodology of the American Yoga College. Zoreh's joyous personality and sense of humor endear her to her students with a teaching style that is both nurturing and fun. Her teaching combines a delicate knowledge of the body that allows a compassionate spiritual expression of the postures to emerge.
Heather's lifelong interest in Eastern philosophy and health lead to her to a practice of yoga at an early age, yoga teacher training studies and studies to become a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. She teaches students to delve deeply into unexplored parts of themselves, through an integrated approach. Her classes focus on proper alignment with stability and openness encouraging change in the body through the power of breath and intention. She teaches an athlete's yoga program that enhances muscle flexibility, joint stability and alignment, and core strength to increase power, speed recovery and inhibit injury with a focus on breathwork, meditation and the system of yoga. Trainings and certification (RPYT) in a wide variety of Peri-natal Yoga studies, doula labor support, Ayurveda and childbirth education has added a multi-faceted depth of knowledge to Peri-natal classes and Prenatal Yoga teacher trainings. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance as a EYRT-500-RYT500 yoga teacher and is Studio Director of High Desert Yoga. Heather offers loving thanks to her many teachers, beautiful family and friends, knowing “that it is in the shelter of each other” that we live.

Thursday evening at 4:30pm through Sunday (early afternoon)
It is advised to leave Albuquerque on Thursday morning in order to enoy a leisurly drive to the Gila Wilderness. Consider stopping enroute to eat lunch at a picnic spot along the river that runs through the Black Range Mountains! We will provide everyone with travel details after registering and paying in full.

Magical Yoga Retreat in Troncones, Mexico

Join us for an exciting trip to Troncones, a tranquil and beautiful beach, with warm clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. Troncones is located 20 miles from the fabulous sleepy fishing village of Zihuatanejo. We will be staying at the resort Eden (www.edenmex. com), a beach hacienda with ocean front rooms decorated tastefully, each with a private bath. Delicious seafood and vegetarian entrees will be served by a gourmet professional chef. Two yoga classes will be offered each day and will include asana, pranayama and meditation. There will be ample opportunities for rest and quiet time, or to partake in many activities such as swimming, bird watching and eco-tours to a special hiking and swimming hole and Kykinga, the lagoon. Horseback riding, massage, shopping trips to Ziwa, snorkeling at the beautiful Ixtapa Island, and deep sea fishing are other optional activities.
Optional acupuncuture, oriental medicine treatments and food based jucing and cleansing will be offered by Heather Lee Farrell, Doctor of Oriental Medicine.

Supriti is a lifelong devotee of Yoga and has been teaching for over 35 years. In 1978, she traveled to India and took public classes at the BKS Iyengar Institute with the Iyengar family. She continues to study primarily in the Iyengar tradition with visiting senior instructors. She practiced Therapeutic Massage for 25 years. She continues to deepen her understanding of the workings of yoga while teaching and studying with the staff of High Desert Yoga. Supriti is certified by the Yoga Alliance as a ERYT, 500 hours. She is a lover of poetry and inspires her students with readings from the masters of many wisdom cultures. Supriti was General Manager of High Desert Yoga until 2012 and is gratified by the explosion of interest in Yoga and the growth of so many of her students into teachers in their own right.
